John P. Slough

John Potts Slough (1829-1867) was a Denver lawyer, colonel of the 1st Colorado Volunteer Infantry, and Union commander at the Battle of Glorieta Pass. He resigned his commission weeks after the battle and was later chief justice of the New Mexico territorial supreme court.
